Letter from United Kingdom to cardinal Giacomo Biffi

Mons Biffi,

I`m writing to you, probably using an unusual way, as one of the most important representative of the Roman Catholic Church, hoping that you`ll read this letter considering what I wrote. Time ago I read historian Luigi Cascioli`s book “The fable of Christ” in which the autor , using incontestable evidences, asserted Jesus Christ never existed.

I`ve always had doubts about the existence of Jesus Christ, generated from the rationality which makes us humans different from animals. I`m not telling you this because I have any kind of prejudice against christian religion, as far as I`m concerned I regard every religion as equal in promoting subtle identical objectives with the purpose subduing weak minds.

In reality, I`m writing to you this because, after a continuos examination of the new and old testament, I noticed several important contradictions. Mr Cascioli`s book gave me finally the evidences and the answers to my questions. Believe me, I am not alone. Even more important is the fact which confirmes the misleading behaviour of Catholic Church, which, of course, was not an act of good faith.

In fact any representative of Church never bothered to answered to Luigi Cascioli`s perfectly documented work about Jesus Christ`s existence. This kind of behaviour shows Mr Cascioli`s accusation very difficult to dispute. Your silence about this matter is probably the proof that what Mr Cascioli says is true.

Don`t you believe that now you should give an explanation to a billion of people who believed in what you said , maybe sacrifiing their lives believing to a legend? I think you`ll never do that, even if Catholic Church is loosing devotees and priests. Everything is already happening in silence, the same silence used by Church.

In fact to day, as you are well aware, there are not illiterates anymore, people is quite cultured, information is available by various means , most of all internet, using which even a simple person can have access to awide and in partial information. It is a process which already started and will never be stopped by anybody. To day media provides worldwide information with the purpose to unmaske any kind of frauds, even those committed two thousand years ago.

To come to a conclusion, after what has been said, I just wonder how it`s possible that very cultured people like you ignored hundreds of Bible`s contradictions and lies. If Bible has been inspired by God it should be absolute truth. As you knows, truth never changes. If it changes, even a little bit, is consideredm a lie.

The same lie was a weapon used by Church to persecute many upright people: one of them was Galileo. But many others came and even more will follow with the purpose of revealing the truth. To day Mr Cascioli is one of them and you are repeating the same mistake. But history will tell the truth, as ever.
