The European Parliament adopted today a report on the protection of the EU’s financial interests. The European Commission welcomes this document as an important support in the fight against fraud affecting the EU budget. The report by rapporteur Francesco Musotto highlights the paramount importance of a constructive cooperation between the Member States and the Commission. It stresses the key responsibility of the Member States for the sound management of Community revenue and expenditure, in particular in the areas of agriculture and structural funds, and including the recovery of unduly spent sums. Finally, the report requests concrete follow-up actions, including measures against certain Member States
Le Parlement européen a adopté aujourd'hui un rapport sur les intérêts financiers de l’UE. La Commission européenne se félicite de ce document qui devrait constituer un soutien important dans la lutte contre la fraude portant atteinte au budget de l’UE. Le rapport de M. Francesco Musotto met en évidence l’importance primordiale d'une coopération constructive entre les états membres et la Commission. Il souligne la responsabilité clé des états membres en ce qui concerne la bonne gestion financière des recettes et des dépenses communautaires, notamment dans les secteurs de l’agriculture et des Fonds structurels, y compris le recouvrement des sommes indûment versées. Enfin, le rapport demande des actions de suivi concrètes, notamment des mesures à l’encontre de certains états membres
Das Europäische Parlament hat heute einen Bericht über den Schutz der finanziellen Interessen der Gemeinschaft angenommen. Die Europäische Kommission begrüßt den Bericht als wichtigen Beitrag zur Bekämpfung von zu Lasten des Gemeinschaftshaushalts gehenden Betrugsdelikten. In dem Bericht von Berichterstatter Francesco Musotto wird die große Bedeutung einer konstruktiven Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Mitgliedstaaten und der Kommission hervorgehoben. Weiters wird betont, dass es in erster Linie Aufgabe der Mitgliedstaaten ist, für eine effiziente Verwaltung der Gemeinschaftseinnahmen und ”€œausgaben (insbesondere in den Bereichen Landwirtschaft und Strukturfonds) zu sorgen, was auch die Wiedereinziehung von zu Unrecht gezahlten Beträgen einschließt. Zudem werden in dem Bericht konkrete Folgemaßnahmen gefordert, darunter auch Maßnahmen gegen bestimmte Mitgliedstaaten
